Do you remember when I said that I didn't want a cat?

Last night around 5pm I mentioned to The Big Guy that I would be willing to talk about when would be a good time to get a new kitten (both he and The May Queen have been lobbying.)
Look what came home about noon today.I think he wanted to make sure I didn't have any time to change my mind.
Shakespeare, our alpha cat in residence, was unaware that his world was about to change. Let me just say that he is unamused. Growling and hissing have been his reaction. As expected.
We haven't named the new kitty yet. If it's anything like last time, this may take several days and an advanced voting system.Any suggestions? (he's a boy)

He's adorable! I would name him something that "matches" Shakespeare... but I don't have any good suggestions on what that might be. ;)

Marlowe? Rostand? Cervantes?

All for different reasons, obviously.

Brecht would be just. plain. sad.

It was like that when I gave hubby a tentative budget for a possible flat-screen TV. The very next day he just happened to find one at $1 below my ceiling.

How about Benedick?

Hands down.

Marlowe is currently the top contender... the nicknames are just too cute to resist... Marbles, Marples... now if I can just convince The Big Guy... MQ is already on board (or at least she was before I headed to the theatre this evening... lord knows what kind of bribery went on while i was gone...)

Ah, now the Marlowe name makes even more sense, you've already got Shakespeare!

I remember how I was "never going to get a puppy." And Auggie just celebrated his first birthday by being, shockingly, alive.

He's adorable and I think Marlowe is a great name for him.

Oh heavens! He is so cute. M wants a cat so very much. Curse my allergies.

As for a name, I do like Marlowe but I would suggest Stoppard: young, spry and also a great wit.

He's so cute! I was going to suggest Puck, but Marlowe is better.

I know I'm too late to contribute to a name -- but I wanted to say that that is just about the cutest kitty ever.

That is one cute Marlowe. Classic kitten.

Cute kitty! I am not good with naming pets, so can't offer anything there.

Oh my goodness! How could you resist that??? Marlowe is the perfect name. Sorry I've been absent lately. I seem to make it to my reader in spurts lately.

Kitten! Aww, I'm having a kitten craving, and a coworker has several to give away. Must resist, must resist.
