Don't throw roses, throw CASH

Tuesdays are turning out to be rather rough days for us. And if bad things come in three, I think I may just have a nervous breakdown next Tuesday.

You may recall that last Tuesday our computer went up in smoke. A large purchase on the credit card followed.

Today, I had to take my car to the shop. Yesterday a nice dad in the carline indicated that my front right tire was low on air. Since I just had it filled 2 weeks ago, I knew something must be wrong, so this morning we took it in. Two new tires and an alignment later... a slightly smaller but still larger than we can afford purchase on the credit card.

sigh.

On a way better note: At rehearsal last night (our first with the orchestra! it was awesome!) the director came up to me backstage, and said to me in his lovely Italian accent "You are very good at the acting. I watch the whole stage..." (insert lots of hand motions here)"... and you are very good. Bravo."

It doesn't quite pay the credit card bill, but it was priceless.

You got an actual "Bravo"?! Whee! That is so cool. (Maybe he'd pay your credit card bill, too? Hee.)

I've had two credit card bills come in today's mail. I completely understand. :)

Yeah for the 'Bravo!' That's the second time he's singled you out, right? Fantastic!!
I'm sorry about the bills...they always seem to pile up, don't they? I hope that's it!

That is so cool! Hand motions and everything!!

A "Bravo" from an Italian guy is AWESOME, no matter what it's for (heh heh). But seriously, good job and break a leg and all that fantastical theatrical stuff!

Why do those large unwanted "purchases" always have to come in bulk??

On the other hand, compliments do make up for a lot of other crap, don't they ... :)

Ooooo. The first practice with the orchestra is always so exciting.
See!!!! Didn't I tell you that you would be the one to watch in the chorus. So awesome! Congrats!

What an amazing compliment!

Yaaay!
And boo to money problems - it sounds like the week we had when our dryer, furnace and hot water tank died within hours of each other. That was an expensive week.

Boo on the bills. Yippee for the 'Bravo'!

Wow, what a complement! That is really, really cool! Are you walking on air?

Oh isn't that awesome. Sometimes something like that can make all the difference at the end of a crappy day.

Sorry about the bills- they never come when we can cope with them, with any luck, this is it.

I hate spending large amounts of money on things that I didn't plan on spending large amounts of money on. And I think cars are generally the worst.

Bravo!

Sorry about the car issues. *sigh* I know all about that!!

Ciao, bella! ;)

Not to be a nit-picker... but
shouldn't he have said "Brava?" AS you are a female?
or is my Italian conjugation off?
At any rate glad you are recognized as being good "at the acting"!!

Sorry about the credit card avalanche. Why does everything seem to break at once?

Sorry to hear about the tires... When it rains it pours, eh? But hooray for some recognition for your superb acting skillz! You should be very proud of you! :)

What a compliment! That's a big deposit for the emotional bank. Sorry, though, about the financial bank. Those things are tough.

Maypole! I have excellent news for you! My washer has just, this moment, died a gooey death, replete with smoke and the finality of that terrible electrical smell. (And am I evacuating my household at the threat of a consuming electrical fire? No. I am posting this comment.)

The first thought I had was: "Dang! You were only 4 years old and had many more miles to go!"
The next thought was: "Perhaps this would qualify as PM's third catastrophe."

So, I'm rubbing pennies together and wishing on eyelashes, and other silly good luck charmy things, hoping that your third shoe has dropped.

Guess I'll be getting a new washer (and dryer?) for Christmas.

what a crap day!

glad the "bravo" was there for you at the end. . .

Sounds like a great way thought to end the day!

Goodness, you do get a lot of comments!

I'll just add my "bravo" to getting the "bravo" from the director. That is indeed a wonderful compliment. And how fabulous to get the compliment in an Italian accent. (My own compliments rarely come in Italian accents.)

Effusive gestures from an Italian director must has some street value, no?

Your title totally cracks me up. I haven't been around here enough lately and I clearly missed way too much!
