Overheard at the birdfeeder...

Ahhh, look. The sweet nectar of life. Mmmm.... red... tasty....

slurp, slurp, slurp... wait a second....

Begone, you usurper! There is not enough nectar in this giant bottle for both of us.

Whew. She is gone. I think. Must look about and check to make sure that no one is trying to steal my nectar. Wait... I think I hear something...

Damn... I was hoping I could sneak in behind her.

I chase you away, you nectar thief! Take that!

Don't even think about it....

Do you never give up?
I figured YOU would give up, eventually, and let me have a drink!

Fine, have a drink. But I don't like it. Or you.
But wait... what is that I hear behind me?
What fresh hell is this? 2 usurpers????

Can you tell I miss my hummingbirds? Even here in Louisiana it gets too cold, and they have gone further south for the winter.

This post is a Monday Mission! This week's Mission is inspired by the fabulous posts at Ewe are Here wherein she imagines the conversations between her boys as she tries to get their picture. Your Mission is to write a post with photos and give the conversation that goes along with them. The conversation does not have to be between people (obviously). Ewe wrote a great post linking to her series. check it out for some inspiration.
Write your own Monday Mission post and link to it in the widget below:

Next Monday (Jan 26th) your mission is to write a post in the style of a diary entry.
(Any ideas for next month's missions? Share them with me!)

They really do get protective about 'their' nectar feeders, too!
;-)

I miss hummingbirds as well. We used to have hummingbird feeders year round back where I grew up. They don't exist over here, sadly.

Oh, and my Mission Conversation is up as well.

Those are fantastic pictures! I've tried to take similar ones and mostly I get blurs.
Love it!
I'm working on mine.

Up.
How about 'Ode to My Valentine' or something of the sort for the 12th?

great pictures, great conversation. hummingbirds are rather territorial. We once had a nest right in front of our kitchen window. It was so amazing to see how tiny the little eggs and baby birds were.

I was going to say that if those were in NOLA, that would be just too cruel as it's FRIGID up here in MI!!!

That was fun! I can just imagine the music soundtrack to accompany the drama and action.

And those were some very cool photos!
