Nope

So... I finally heard about this audition, and I didn't get the part. That's OK. The director sent a very nice e-mail, and asked if he could contact me for future shows.

Um... of course.

I'm not terribly surprised, and as I said (and the director said in the e-mail) there is only one role for a Caucasian woman in that show.

So anyhow, I have another audition this Saturday, and I'm busy getting ready for that. It's a season audition for the theatre that I worked at for all four shows I did last year, so I'm hoping something will come from this. We'll see!

And today I started teaching at a drama camp - the first time I've done that in 7 years, so that is fun (and tiring!) Having a full time job for the next 2 weeks will likely keep me away from the computer a lot, but I'll be around when I have the energy.

Where do you get all the teaching energy? Good grief, Mama. I need some of that! :)

Sorry about the audition... but I'm sure the right thing will come along one of these days!

I think it is pretty impressive that the director wants to keep in contact with you for future roles. That says a lot!
Have fun teaching, and this time take some meds in case of a migraine! ;)

Remember it's summertime - you're supposed to be relaxing at least a little bit, right? Enjoy camp and good luck with the audition on Saturday.

It will be interesting to read what you have to say about the drama camp. :)

I've taught at drama camp! I always enjoy it (well, depending on the aims of the camp).

I hope the audition on Saturday goes beautifully!

That's a bummer.

But you'll have a blast doing the camp! See you in two weeks. :)

That's one of the things that I think would be hardest about acting -- dealing with the fact that you're going to audition for plenty of parts that, for one reason or another, just won't work out.

I'm sure that you get used to it and it sounds like you have a great attitude, but it must be difficult for people who are just starting out...

I CANNOT imagine a more tiring job than teaching at drama camp. Godspeed, love.

You are a much better woman than I am:)

You'll get the next part and in the meantime a bunch of kids get to learn from you...have a great time with the camp.

I have one thing to say about the caucasian comment - they made a version of the wizard of oz and Brandi was the star! So . . . .
