I discovered my favorite new holiday drink quite by accident. I'm not a coffee drinker, but enjoy a nice hot Chai Tea in the morning. The other day we were out of milk and I was contemplating drinking it without or breaking into the powdered milk (for baking) stash in the cupboard... when I thought "we have eggnog in the fridge."
I poured a little into my mug... thinking "this is either going to be great, or really gross"
It was great. I'm hooked.
Of course, it was too hot here this morning to drink anything warm, but otherwise I've been having it every morning. It's a yummy way to start the day.

That sounds quite good! I'm surprised Starbucks hasn't thought of it yet!
Yummy. Oregon Chai tea is my favorite. You can buy it at the grocery store and it's the same brand that you buy at Caribou Coffee.
Oh, I love Caribou Coffee, but we don't have it out here. Mmmm. We've got great weather today for hot beverages, so I might break out the chai myself.
What a lovely discovery. We've been out of yummy coffee enhancers before and I've contemplated stealing a bit of KayTar's Pediasure, but something tells me it wouldn't turn out so well. LOL.
Too hot? It's like, a billion below here. My husband ALWAYS drinks his coffee with eggnog in the mornings... me, I'll stick to chai.
Ooooo. That sounds so good. I love chai and I love eggnog but I never thought to put the two together. Yum!
I'm a die in the wood coffee drinker I'm afraid, a real creature of habit.
Cheers
This is my calling card or link"Whittereronautism"until blogger comments get themselves sorted out.
Eggnog Chai...mmm, yummy! Now go sell your idea to Starbucks and get rich!
Count me in!
So, tea with eggnog? Intriguing.
I heard from Ambassador it is really hot! And I was thinking our 40 degrees was balmy...
Patent it. Patent it now.
that sounds so yum
I'm fond of chai, but eggnog...
When I was a kid I was making mac & cheese and accidentally grabbed the eggnog carton instead of the milk carton. The result: I don't think I'll ever drink eggnog again. :)
But I'm glad you found a new holiday drink! For me, cinnamon in anything (hot cocoa, tea, etc) makes me think of Christmas.
The skin on the back of my hands cracked this morning as I poured coffee in the kitchen, my beloved husband having forgotten to latch the door, thus leaving a fine film of frost over the entire room.
I envy you your bliss and heat.
Oh yum. I don't allow egg nog in the house. It is the sole concession to "diet" I make, so I stick to it, and wash my fudge down with hot chocolate.
YUMM! that sounds great. I think I could put eggnog in anything though, and it would be great.
You bring the drinks to my house, and I'll supply the FREEZING weather...how's that sound?

Mmmmm! Eggnog! How very inventive of you! I'm with you - where is the Winter weather? I'm having trouble whipping up the proper mood with all this hot and humid junk that passes for weather.
All I want for Christmas is two feet of snow! Is that too much to ask?
Eggnog is one of the flavored coffee creamers. I bet it is YUM!
I have gingerbread, pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha...all Starbucks flavors, but the cost of one bottle (at least 20 coffees) is less than one Starbucks coffee. So this is my attempt to stop that Starbucks run this time of year.

Using My Words
I've seen the eggnog creamer in the grocery, but never had it in my coffee. I'll pick some up this weekend, though. Or, I'll just get the regular nog. Either way, my coffee will get a sweet kick.
I have a confession...I have never had eggnog! How sad. Congrats on your new find, enjoy!
I'm not crazy about eggnog...but I love the feeling of trying something new and finding it delicious :)
I can't imagine it being too hot for a hot drink...it is frigid here, my fingers are cold as I type this.
Enjoy it for me!
Heidi
this reminds me of my dad who loved eggnog in his coffee at christmas time.
Running on empty
I love chai! I have never tried egg nog... I'm not sure I can get past the name. but if you say so... I might have to try :)
